S.L. Dooley is a fantasy author looking for a neverending story to go boldly through the wardrobe into another adventure. She takes Tolkien's mandate seriously: "Fantasy is escapist . . . It's our plain duty to escape and to take as many people with us as we can!" She began escaping into Nancy Drew adventures in grade school and never looked back. She wrote her first short story in high school entitled "The Cemetery Trip" but it would be thirty years before she would begin taking others on her own fantastical adventures. She lives in Texas with her husband, where she collects old books and new journals.
Dooley takes to heart the scripture from Matthew: "Jesus came not be served, but to serve."
SL Dooley began her writing career while living on Oahu, Hawai'i.
